The main arch of the new North Shore footbridge across the River Tees is being lifted into place on Friday.

It is part of a £15m scheme in Stockton linking Tees Valley Regeneration's North Shore development and Teesdale Business Park.

The arch is made of 300 tonnes of steel and will sit next to a smaller arch installed earlier in the summer.

A crane is lifting the new structure, which spans 393ft (120m) and is 104ft (32m) high, into place.
