Three men have been charged over a suspected arson attack which destroyed an Indian restaurant in Middlesbrough.

Eight crews tackled the fire, which broke out at Acklam Tandoori early on Thursday and the building could now have to be demolished.

The men, aged 20, 24, and 30, were rearrested and charged on suspicion of arson on Saturday, after earlier being bailed over the incident.

They are expected to appear before Teesside Magistrates' Court on Monday.

Some nearby shops on Acklam Road also suffered extensive damage in the blaze.
