Work on 19m health unit begins

Work on a state-of-the art health centre which will offer certain hospital services has begun.

The new 19m building in Park Road, Hartlepool, will offer medical care from four GP practices.

It will also boast dentistry, pharmacy, diagnostics and out-patient services as well as some surgery, usually only available in hospital.

The new centre, which was approved last month, is due to open to patients in May 2010.
