Elderly driver dies in collision

An elderly driver has died in a collision on Teesside.

The 70-year-old, whose name has not yet been released, was pronounced dead in hospital following the crash on the A174 near Four Ends Lane, Saltburn.

He was driving a Vauxhall Cavalier. The other vehicle, a Peugeot 307, was driven by a 40-year-old woman, who was not injured.

Officers from the Cleveland force are appealing for witnesses to the incident on Monday lunchtime.
