The man, who has not been named, was with a male friend, when they were set upon by a gang of four men in West Row in the early hours of Saturday.

The victim was repeatedly hit with a belt, before having the tip of his nose bitten off by one of the attackers.

His friend escaped without injury. The four attackers are described as white and in their early 20s.
