Name chosen for dock development
Middlehaven plans
The revamp will transform the redundant riverside area
A £200m redevelopment of former docks on Teesside into homes, offices and leisure facilities has been named.

The Middlehaven area of Middlesbrough, which will boast 750 new homes, will be known as RiversideOne.

The environmentally-friendly project is also set to include a luxury hotel and shops. About 80 apartments at the site will go on sale in January.

The revamp is being carried out by developer BioRegional Quintain on behalf of Tees Valley Regeneration.

Pete Halsall, managing director of BioRegional Quintain, said: "We chose the name RiversideOne for two reasons.

"Firstly, the word 'Riverside' has been, and always will be, associated with Middlesbrough and the development's waterside location.

"Secondly, the 'One' element has been adopted in line with our One Planet Living principles, which fully support a sustainable lifestyle."
