Labour holds on to Middlesbrough

The Labour party has held on to control of Middlesbrough Council despite some small losses.

Independent councillors were the only ones to gain, with three extra seats taking their total to 11.

There were no changes for the Tories who retained their six seats and the Liberal Democrats lost one, bringing them down to five.

Labour lost two seats, but their total of 26 was enough to ensure they remained in control.
