Teenager's ear bitten in attack
A teenager was left with a bloody nose, cut lip and a badly bitten ear when he was attacked in front of his parents after celebrating New Year.

The attack happened in High Street West, Coatham, Redcar, early on New Year's Day, after the family left the Cleveland Hotel pub.

Three youths, wearing hoods, who were in the street, pushed the victim's mother out of the way.

They then set upon him, but ran off when two people came to his aid.

None of the family knew the males involved. Police said they ran off along High Street West towards Lobster Road.
