Boy, 12, attacked by Japanese dog
A 12-year-old boy was bitten and bruised in an attack by a powerful dog in a Teesside street.

The victim and a friend were walking along Bishopton Road West in Stockton when a man with a Japanese Akita told them to get out of the way.

Police said the dog then lunged at the boy biting him on the side and leaving him with puncture wounds. The owner wrestled the dog off, then walked away.

Police want to speak to the dog owner who was wearing a blue, padded jacket.

He was in his 30s, about 5ft 6in, and had a stocky build. Anyone who has been attacked by this dog is asked to contact police.
