Chris Rea piano sells for 6,900
A piano owned by Middlesbrough-born musician Chris Rea has been sold at auction for more than 6,000.

The piano featured on many of Rea's hit recordings of the 1990s, including The Road To Hell and Auberge.

The multi-million album-selling singer and guitarist first found fame in 1978 and survived a cancer scare in 2000.

The Yamaha C7 was sold at Bonhams in London for 6,900, with a note signed by Rea, who recently announced his 2006 European tour would be his last.
