Parents deny manslaughter of son
The mother and father of a Teesside toddler have appeared in court accused of his manslaughter.

Mitchell Bate, two, was found dead at his home in Rodney Street, Hartlepool, on 16 September, last year.

Mark Bate, 33, and Gemma Fennelly, 23, denied two charges of manslaughter and allowing or causing the death of a child when they appeared in court.

The pair were bailed and the trial will take place in September at Teesside Crown Court.
