Four dogs rescued in three River Arun incidents

A West Sussex lifeboat crew rescued four dogs in three separate incidents on the River Arun within a week.

The Littlehampton lifeboat crew rescued Fletcher and Moffy who had both become stranded on the shingle bank on different days.

Crewmen also rescued Amber and Sterling after they were found struggling in the river.

Crewmember Nick White said: "Our main concern is that the owners don't put their own lives at risk by jumping in."

"The River Arun runs very quickly and the harbour entrance is particularly treacherous," he added.
