Second man remanded over Seaford waiter death

A second man has been remanded in custody charged with the murder of a waiter who was found dead at a flat in East Sussex.

The body of Ahmed Remon Hayder, 27, was found above an architects' firm in Sutton Park Road, Seaford, on 1 February. He died from head injuries.

Shahadat Mollah Sohag, 21, of no fixed address, has been charged with murder and aggravated burglary.

He was remanded in custody at Brighton Magistrates' Court.

Mr Sohag is next due before Lewes Crown Court for a preliminary hearing on Tuesday.

Sussex Police said Mr Sohag had been arrested at St Pancras railway station, north London, on Saturday.

'Same charges'

He is the second man to to be charged in connection with the inquiry.

Mohammed Anhar, 33, of Tower Hamlets, east London, faces the same charges.

Mr Anhar was remanded in custody when he appeared at Lewes Crown Court on 10 February. He is next due to appear at a hearing on 15 April.

Mr Hayder, also known as Ray, worked at the Moon of India restaurant, which he had been running while his parents were on holiday in Bangladesh.
