East Sussex crews tackle scrap yard fire

Staff were treated for smoke inhalation

Up to 30 firefighters were called to tackle a fire at a scrap metal yard in Heathfield.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said it was called to the fire at MDJ Light Brothers scrap yard in Three Cups on Monday at 1100 GMT.

More than 200 tonnes of scrap metal were alight, a spokeswoman for the service said.

Two members of staff were also treated at the scene for smoke inhalation, she added.
