Man punched in head for bicycle in Brighton

A cyclist was punched in the head in Brighton several times by a thief who stole his bicycle and bag.

Sussex Police said the victim was fixing his bicycle in Hartington Road when he was threatened and attacked at by a man about 2045 GMT on Friday.

The robber repeatedly punched him in the head before he stole a bag and rode off on the man's silver and black Ridgeback bike towards Shanklin Road.

Officers said the victim was left shocked but not seriously hurt.

The robber is described as white, in his late teens to early twenties, with blond short cropped hair, a round face and of stocky build.

He was wearing a grey scarf that was pulled up above his nose and a dark long sleeved top.

Sussex Police have urged anyone who witnessed the attack to contact them.
