Man admits airport firearm charge

A 46-year-old man has pleaded guilty to possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence after an incident at Gatwick Airport.

David Sheehan, 46, of Curteys Walk, Bewbush, Crawley, admitted the charge in a hearing that took place at Hove Crown Court.

He was arrested at the West Sussex airport after an incident in which armed police used a Taser stun gun.

Sheehan is due to be sentenced at the same court on 21 January.
