Man injured after accepting lift

A 25-year-old man is being treated for serious head injuries after he accepted a lift in a car from two men in Sussex who then assaulted and robbed him.

Police said the suspects were driving a light coloured, small, older style car when they picked him up early on Sunday in the Peacehaven/Rottingdean area.

The victim was found by passing motorists on Marine Drive, Rottingdean, just before 0200 GMT.

He said he had been pulled from the car and assaulted before the men drove off.

Stripey top

Officers said he was left disorientated, visibly badly injured, and wandering around.

The three men and the car had earlier been seen at the Star Fuels petrol station in Peacehaven at about 0100 GMT.

The suspects were described as white, and aged in their early to mid-20s.

One was more than 6ft (1.8m) tall, with brown hair and wore a grey and black stripey top.

The other man was about 5ft 8ins (1.7m) tall with fair or blond hair, and wore a dark jacket.

Any witnesses are urged to contact police.
