The man who raided the bookmakers spoke with a Liverpool accent

A CCTV image of a robber who raided a bookmakers in Brighton has been released by police.

The Ladbrokes betting shop in Arundel Road, Kemp Town was targeted by a hooded man who was carrying a knife, at 1920 GMT on Thursday.

Sussex Police said staff handed over an undisclosed amount of cash when he demanded money. He then ran off.

The man was described as white, 5ft 10ins tall, of medium build and speaking with a Liverpool accent.

He was wearing a navy hooded top and white trainers.

Police have appealed for anyone who saw the man to contact them.
