Four people have been arrested and bailed after five barn fires which all took place within a few hours across East and West Sussex.

Sussex Police said a 21-year-old man, a 16-year-old boy, and two girls aged 17 had been arrested after the incidents.

Fire crews tackled two barn fires in Fletching last week, and three more in Cuckfield, Scaynes Hill, and Newick.

All the fires happened within two and a half hours on Tuesday night. Nobody was injured, but machinery was damaged.

Investigations are still under way by police and fire teams.

Anyone who saw what happened is asked to contact Sussex Police.
