Public find woman's body on beach

The body of an elderly woman has been found by members of the public on a beach in Sussex.

The washed-up body of the woman, thought to be in her 70s, was found around 0830 BST on a beach at Lancing.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene, where the woman was pronounced dead.

Police believe her death was not suspicious, but their investigations are still ongoing. The woman's next of kin have been informed.
