Learning boosted with £5m grant

Schools and colleges in Sussex have secured £5m to install new technology.

The money, from the Department of Children, Schools and Families (DCSF), aims to encourage more interactive learning.

The main hub of the project will be at at Beacon Community College, Crowborough.

A wider network of colleges will allow pupils to link up with the hub at Beacon to share ideas and work together on projects.

The outreach colleages include Claverham Community College, Ringmer Community College, Oathall Community College, Longhill School as well as Sussex Downs and Plumpton College.

East Sussex County Council joined up with Plumpton College, Sussex Downs College, West Sussex County Council and Brighton and Hove City Council to bid for the funding.
