Man offered £50,000 for tiny home

Model house
Mr Riches started model making as a child

A 23-room house created by a retired builder could sell for £50,000 despite being too small for human habitation.

The dolls mansion was a 15-year labour of love for 64-year-old Peter Riches, of Hove, East Sussex.

But he is now considering a £50,000 offer from a Canadian buyer after a friend posted a photo of the house on the internet.

Mr Riches created all the furnishings, including a 1,000-book library, from raw materials or recycled objects.

Thousands of bricks were etched by hand in the exterior plaster and the tiles were individually cut from cardboard.

Mr Riches started model making as a child and has created several other scale models including one of HMS Victory.

He said: "Its nice to have something in miniature that you can't own in real life."

Mr Riches said he was considering selling the house to make room for a new project in his small flat.
