Man in court over beach assaults

A 25-year-old man has appeared in court in connection with four incidents on Brighton beach.

Ricardo Tavares, of Montpelier Terrace, Brighton, appeared before Brighton magistrates on Saturday.

He was arrested by Sussex Police on Thursday and charged with 10 offences of sexual assault, assault and theft between April 2008 and February 2009.

Mr Tavares was remanded in custody until a hearing at Lewes Crown Court on 22 May.
