Wedding day auctioned after split

A Valentine's Day wedding has been put on an internet auction site after the couple split up over Christmas.

Best Western Hotel in Brighton, is offering an afternoon and evening reception for up to 80 and room for the bride and groom worth nearly 4,000.

The hotel said it decided to put the day on eBay after it was told the wedding was off because the couple had split up.

Bids for the couple's Valentine's Day reception start at 2,200.

Wedding co-ordinator Lauren Siebers said: "We had a cancellation from a couple just weeks before their wedding, which was unfortunate, but we thought why not put the day up on eBay?

"After all it's a perfect date as it's Valentine's Day, which also falls on a Saturday. It's quite a nice package, with quite a lot of things thrown in as part of the deal."
