Teenager admits causing car death

An Australian teenager has pleaded guilty to causing the death of a woman who was hit by a car at a pedestrian crossing in East Sussex.

Daniel Meredith, 19, of Cherwell Road, Heathfield admitted causing death by dangerous driving on 29 August.

Christine Fraser, 46, of Robertsbridge, died at the scene of the accident in Station Road, Robertsbridge.

Meredith was remanded in custody at Lewes Crown Court and is due to be sentenced on 16 January.
