A member of the public removed the man from the shop

A CCTV image has been released of a man police want to speak to in connection with an allegation of abusive behaviour towards a shopkeeper in Brighton.

Sussex Police said there was a report of verbal abuse towards the man, his wife and son after he asked the suspect for identification to buy alcohol.

He shouted racially-motivated abuse and threw groceries around the shop.

The incident happened at the convenience store in St George's Road, Brighton on the evening of 26 October.

The incident ended after a member of the public entered the store and removed the man, who shouted abuse from outside and kicked the front door as he left towards St James Street.
