Driver, 17, killed in collision

A teenager has died following a collision between the BMW he was driving and another car in West Sussex.

The 17-year-old boy from Haslemere, Surrey crashed on the A286 Henley Hill, Chichester at about 1050 GMT on Sunday.

The BMW, heading north to Fernhurst, was in collision with a Volvo travelling in the opposite direction.

The Volvo driver, a 47-year-old woman also from Haslemere, was taken to St Richards Hospital to be treated for a broken ankle.

Sussex Police said her three passengers, an adult and two children aged 4 and 13, suffered serious but non life-threatening injuries.

The force has appealed for witnesses to contact them.
