The hospital asked anyone showing symptoms of Norovirus to stay away

A ward at a hospital in East Sussex has been closed after 13 patients were taken ill with winter vomiting bug.
The patients at Eastbourne District General Hospital began showing symptoms of the Norovirus bug at the beginning of the week.
The virus causes nausea and diarrhoea and is easily spread.
A spokesman for the hospital said the ward would be reopened once patients had been free of the virus for two days and it had been deep-cleaned.
He said that anyone showing symptoms of the disease was asked not to visit the hospital.
