Elderly man, 75, dies after row

A 75-year-man has died following a row with a couple who appeared to be fitness training near cliffs in East Sussex, police said.

Officers said the elderly man became unwell following an altercation in Smugglers' Way, Fairlight, at about 1245 GMT on Thursday.

He was taken to the Conquest Hospital, Hastings, where he later died.

A 20-year-old man and a woman, aged 21, both local to the area, have been arrested, Sussex Police said.

Ch Insp Heather Keating added: "This is a tragic, isolated incident and I want to reassure the local community that officers will be patrolling the village over the coming days.

"I encourage people to talk to them if they are concerned or if they have any information that can assist this enquiry."
