Elderly pedestrian is hit by car

An elderly man is in hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car in West Sussex.

Officers said the crash happened in Durrington Hill, Durrington, at about 0710 BST.

The man was taken to Worthing Hospital for treatment, a spokesman for Sussex Police said.

Appealing for witnesses, he said the man was hit by a Lexus saloon car. Anyone who saw what happened is asked to contact the force.
