Road death pedestrian identified

A pedestrian who was killed when the she was hit by a car near a level crossing in East Sussex has been named.

Christine Fraser, 46, from Robertsbridge, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident in Station Road, Robertsbridge, on Friday evening.

Daniel Meredith, 18, of Sydney, Australia, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving while over the drink driving limit.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Lewes Crown Court on 5 December.

Mr Meredith was also charged with failing to stop after a collision and driving with no insurance and licence.
