Schools set for pupils' makeover

Two schools in East Sussex will be given a makeover after student ideas won a county council competition.

Robsack Wood Community Primary School in St Leonards and St Michael's Primary School in Withyam will now be changed to match the winning pupils' ideas.

At Robsack Wood, a sensory garden and a nursery with wind chimes will be built, while a hedgehog home and a wigwam will be built at St Michaels.

A spokesman for the council said the designs showed immense imagination.

"The outdoor spaces at our schools are very important and more and more they are being used not just as places to play but also to learn," he said.

"With increasing interest in wildlife and nature it's no surprise to me that so many of the entries featured in the environmental theme," he added.
