Gunman holds up bookmaker's shop

A gunman who held up a bookmaker's shop in Sussex threatened staff before escaping with money.

The incident happened at 0900 BST when the man entered the Coral shop in Broadfield Barton, Broadfield, and threatened staff with a handgun.

He then took a sum of money and left the scene on foot, with no shots fired and nobody injured.

The man, who was black and in his 20s, wore dark trousers with a white stripe, a hooded top, and carried a rucksack.

Police have appealed for any witnesses to contact them.
