Arrest after head-on death crash

A motorist in his 20s has died in a head-on collision and the other driver involved has been arrested.

Emergency teams were called to the scene in Adversane on Wednesday morning, after the crash between a Ford Fiesta and a Honda Civic.

Adversane Lane was closed for four hours while Sussex Police investigated what happened.

In a separate accident on Wednesday afternoon, a woman cyclist died in a crash involving two Ford vehicles.

Police said the collision happened at about 1545 BST on the southbound lane of the A23, near its junction with Hickstead.

Neither victim has been identified. Both died at the crash scenes.
