Police searching for a missing woman from West Sussex say they have failed to find any trace of her at a building site close to her home.

Elaine Taggart, 48, from Ferring, was last seen on 3 January when she gave a colleague a lift home from work.

Her car was found a day later near Goring railway station, a five-minute drive away from her home.

A 43-year-old man questioned over her disappearance earlier this month has been released on police bail.

As part of their ongoing investigation, officers spent two days searching the building site in Ferringham Lane, using a digger to move earth.

The home of Mrs Taggart, a catering manager at Brighton College, and fields close by have also been searched.

Mrs Taggart is described as white, 5ft 6in tall, with a medium build, and dark brown hair.
