Community centre damaged in blaze
More than 30 firefighters were called to tackle a blaze which broke out in the main hall of a community centre.

Crews from Shoreham and Lancing in West Sussex were first on the scene at Shoreham Community Centre, Pond Road, and requested four more appliances.

The fire, which started in the stage area, had reached a hallway and offices but was stopped from spreading further.

Fire investigation officers remained at the scene on Tuesday morning to try to discover how the blaze started.

Building inspectors will be assessing the safety of the premises which are owned by Adur District Council.
