Sex case jury considering verdict
The jury in the trial of a man accused of carrying out sex attacks on girls and young women has retired to consider its verdict at Chichester Crown Court.

Mark Campbell, 38, of Grenville Gardens, Donnington, Chichester, West Sussex, denies 15 charges including rape and sexual assault.

He is accused of offences in the Bognor Regis and Chichester areas of West Sussex between 1998 and 2004.

The alleged offences include the rape of two 15-year-old girls.

He denies three counts of rape, five of indecent assault, two of sexual assault, two of false imprisonment, two of burglary and one of attempted indecent assault.

The four-week trial has heard that a DNA sample taken from Campbell in October 2002 was not sent for analysis and he is alleged to have gone on to commit further offences.

He was not arrested until four years later when the sample was sent off and was matched to some of the alleged crimes.

The case continues.
