Soaring temperatures attracted as many as 150,000 people onto the streets of Brighton for the city's annual Pride parade, police have said.
A Rocky Horror Picture Show float was one of the main attractions
A carnival procession headed from Madeira Drive to Preston Park, where the party went on into Saturday night.
It was the culmination of Brighton's week-long Pride festival - a celebration of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.
Police said there were 12 arrests, nine of them for suspected drugs offences.
Police officers joined the parade for the fourth year running, with representatives from the Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire, Leicestershire, Scotland, Gwent and Metropolitan police forces.
Ch Supt Paul Pearce commented: "It was probably the biggest attendance to date yet despite such huge numbers it was a peaceful, successful parade, and party in Preston Park, with very few isolated incidents."
Numbers of 120,000 were estimated for the Pride events in 2005 and 2006.
The theme for 2007 was musicals, with floats and groups based on The Rocky Horror Picture Show, The Wizard of Oz and Chicago.
