Force's 21st Century police cars
A new fleet of technologically-advanced cars is beginning to police the roads of Sussex.

The county's police force has taken on BMW vehicles to replace its "ageing" Mercedes and Volvo patrol cars.

One-hundred and fifty hours of work was spent on fitting each and every car with speed detection and automatic number plate recognition equipment.

The conversion work was carried out by specialists from Shoreham-based Ricardo UK Ltd.
