Body found in missing woman hunt
Christine Brooks
Mrs Brooks was last seen on 19 May in Newhaven
Police investigating the disappearance of a woman have found a body in the sea at the foot of cliffs in East Sussex.

Christine Brooks, 54, of Newhaven, was last seen in the town's Sainsbury's store after leaving her Anderson Close home on the evening of 19 May.

Officers said clothing on the body found at the bottom of Birling Gap matched that being worn by Mrs Brooks at the time she went missing.

Police said the discovery of the body was not being treated as suspicious.

Family and friends had appealed for the mother-of-two to contact them after she disappeared following an argument with her husband, Michael.

Mr Brooks had said her disappearance was "totally out of character".

Formal identification of the body has yet to take place.
