Human remains found by police sniffer dogs in woods in Surrey have been identified as those of a 49-year-old man who went missing in 2007.

Clive Watson, who worked as a milkman and groundsman, was a familiar figure in the Lightwater and Windlesham area.

The bones found on 12 October at Rye Grove were identified by DNA analysis.

Surrey Police said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of Mr Watson, from Broadley Green, Windlesham.

Mr Watson, who was a regular at The Sun public house, had not been seen by his family since 12 May 2007.

Police issued a missing person appeal at the time of Mr Watson's disappearance and again one year later, on the day of his son's 18th birthday.
