Man arrested after day assault

A man has been arrested in connection with an unprovoked attack on a man in Surrey.

The attack took place on Chessington Road, west Ewell, on Wednesday at 1600 BST. Police are looking for witnesses.

The victim was in a shop when a man entered and began hitting him over the head with a weapon.

The victim, who is in his 20s, managed to escape from the suspect but the attack continued outside in the parade of shops.
