Dog stolen during street robbery

A robber stole his victim's dog when the man refused to withdraw money from a cash machine in Surrey.

The man was walking his dog on Derby Road in Haslemere on Friday when he was approached by the offender, who forced him to walk to the bank machine.

When he would not withdraw cash, he was assaulted and his dog, wallet and a neck chain were taken.

A man and woman in their 20s have been arrested over the robbery and bailed pending further inquiries.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the attack, outside St Bartholemew's School at about 1515 BST.

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of the Staffordshire terrier, described as brown with hair which is falling out, should contact the force.
