Hit-and-run murder trial starts

A man accused of the murder of a 21-year-old pedestrian in a hit-and-run crash has gone on trial.

Bus driver Daniel Press, 23, from Epsom, denies murdering William Buckingham on 27 September on the A24 in Ewell, Surrey.

A post-mortem examination found that Mr Buckingham's death was caused by serious head injuries.

The jury was sworn in at Kingston Crown Court on Monday and the trial was adjourned until Tuesday.
