Man suffers burns after car fire

A man in his 30s is being treated in hospital for burns following a suspicious car fire in Surrey.

Emergency services called to the scene in Chetwode Road, Burgh Heath, in the early hours found a silver Peugeot 306 completely burned out.

The man is being treated for burns to his arm, face and neck at a burns unit in East Grinstead, West Sussex.

Police said they were trying to discover how he received his injuries, and who set the car on fire.

Det Sgt Glenn Parker urged anyone who was in the area between 0130 and 0215 BST to come forward with any information.
