Pupils targeting speeding drivers

School pupils in Surrey have been given the chance to "catch" speeding drivers as part of a £1m council initiative.

Children at Oakfield school in Fetcham helped the police target speeding drivers during the school exercise.

The year six students were also shown speeding ticket and a Vehicle Activated Sign that is triggered by a moving or speeding car and given safety advice.

Head teacher Rob Hart said:"This is a fantastic opportunity for our children to [see] why speeding is so dangerous."

Surrey County Council recently announced the campaign with the police to tackle speeding and anti-social driving.
