Any children who who are suffering from flu-like symptoms have been asked to remain at home. The outbreak began with a single swine flu case in Year 8 but went on to affect a high proportion of pupils. Events cancelled A statement on the school's website said the school in Weybourne Road reopened to all year groups. It added: "To reduce the risk of further cases of swine flu, parents please do not send your child to school if they are displaying any symptoms." It also urged students to take care over personal hygiene to minimise the spread of infection. The school cancelled several events including a music trip to Italy, a design and technology exhibition and a Duke of Edinburgh expedition.
