Hospital trust seeks new members

A Surrey hospital which is applying for foundation status is urging people to become a member of its trust.

Ashford and St Peter's Hospitals NHS Trust is currently consulting the community on its application to become a foundation trust.

The trust wants to change status to have more local control the hospital.

Membership manager Melanie Perry said becoming a member of the trust would give people a greater say on how the hospital was run.

Ms Perry added: "Come along and talk to us and we'll be only too happy to explain more, both about our plans to become a foundation trust and what it will mean to be a member.

"Joining up won't cost you anything, but you can make a real difference by supporting us to continue to improve our services."
