'Suspicious' fires destroy homes

An investigation has been started following two arson attacks on derelict homes in Surrey.

Nearly 30 firefighters spent almost four hours tackling the two fires in Maybury Road, Woking on Sunday evening.

Surrey Fire and Rescue Service said a semi-detached home and a detached property were severely damaged.

A spokesman for the service described the fires as "suspicious" and said officers would start an investigation into the causes on Monday.
