Pedestrian in hit-and-run crash

An elderly pedestrian is being treated for serious injuries in hospital after she was hit by a white van which failed to stop.

Surrey Police said the incident happened at about 1520 GMT in Stoke Road, Cobham, on Monday.

Officers said a Volkswagen van hit the woman and the driver then failed to stop, leaving the injured pedestrian at the scene.

The force is urging anyone who saw what happened to contact police.
